With a capacity of 5500 when seated and of 7200 when people are both seated and standing. The Rhône-Alpes’ first Zénith venue for major French and international productions. With an ultra modern design and architecture, designed by Foster and Partners (who produced the Millau viaduct), the Zénith is a leading centre and symbol, alongside the Cité du Design, the le Corbusier site and the museum of modern art of Saint-Etienne Métropole Design.
As France’s fourth largest opera house in terms of visitors, with 10000 members, the Opéra Théâtre de Saint-Étienne welcomes over 100,000 spectators to its two theatres every year. With around 300 productions staged every year, the Opéra Théâtre stages operas, dance, music and audiovisual pieces. The emphasis is placed on staging new French productions as well as reworking old ones, with particular attention paid, of course, to the works of Massenet, which allows the Opéra Théâtre de Saint-Étienne to enjoy a broad audience from all over the world as well as international recognition in the co-productions it puts on.
Bar / café open to the public during the day.
